Wim Jacobs

Wim Jacobs (° 1983) was born in an artistic family in Eindhoven (NL) and raised in Essen (BE). After graduating Sint-Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp, he studied Fine Arts at the Visual Arts Acadamy Sint-Lukas in Brussels. After a period of several years in Antwerp, he moved back to the Netherlands, and is now based in Zealand.

“ The basis of my work is the act of painting itself. Rather than a fixed image, the process determines the result. It's what I call observational painting. Every blank canvas challenges me to create unique combinations. Layer by layer I search for synergies between form, figure, texture and colour; let them contrast and co-evolve."
